The Idea is Born…
On Sunday June 14, 2015, cousins Jake Hart and Bailey Marsh planned a walk to help deal with the tragic loss of Bailey’s dad, Gerald Blair Marsh Jr. What was originally intended to be a nice easy 3-4 mile stroll somehow turned into a 6 mile aggressive walk. Taking off from Elmwood Hotel and heading towards Wells Beach, Bailey and Jake didn’t really know where they would end up that day. They used the time to talk, watch beach goers and just spend moments in silence reflecting on the Man that meant so much to both of them. Almost two hours later they had finally arrived back at the Elmwood Hotel. On the morning of Jerry’s funeral, Bailey met Jake at the Elmwood at 6 a.m. and they were back out walking the same route only this time they shaved 20 minutes off their original time.
After the funeral, Jake thought it might be a good idea if they made this walk a fundraiser to raise money for the Wells High School Athletic Boosters. Jerry was the President of the organization before he died and was a champion in his support of the student athletes. He spent countless hours of his time helping mentor and serve others.
On Sunday, June 2, 2019, the family would like to invite you to come and join them as they walk a 5K and raise money to help support the student athletes. There are three key ways you can get involved:
